March 2025 Producer Price Index (PPI)

The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics hereby releases the Producer Price Index (PPI) for the first quarter of 2025. Producer prices for each quarter are represented by the index of the last month and are collected mid-quarter. In March 2025, the year-on-year producer inflation stood at -5.67 per cent, a decline from 7.48 per cent recorded in March 2024. The index fell from 144.84 in March 2024 to 136.62 in March 2025. Trends in the year-on-year PPI and producer inflation rates from March 2022 to March 2025 are illustrated in Figure 1 and Table 1. During this period, the highest producer inflation rate was recorded in June 2022 at 16.52 per cent.
