2019 FinAccess Household Survey
Abstract
The 2019 FinAccess Household Survey, the fifth in a series conducted since 2006 by the Central Bank of Kenya, the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics and FSD Kenya, measures access to, usage, quality and impact of financial services among Kenyan adults. Formal financial inclusion rose to 82.9 per cent in 2019 from 26.7 per cent in 2006, while exclusion fell to 11.0 per cent, driven mainly by mobile money; access gaps by sex, residence and wealth persist but are narrowing.
