Basic Report on the 2010 Census of Industrial Production (CIP)

Basic report of the 2010 Census of Industrial Production (CIP), prepared by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics in collaboration with the Ministry of Industrialization to provide comprehensive information on the structure of industrial activities in Kenya. The census covered registered establishments in mining, manufacturing, electricity and water, collecting data on economic activity, employment, ownership, production and capacity, inventories, intermediate consumption, incomes, sales, ICT and fixed assets; 1,814 establishments responded. Total industrial output in 2009 was KSh 1,009.2 billion, with gross value added of KSh 319.8 billion; manufacturing accounted for 90.3 per cent of output.
