FinAccess MSE COVID-19 Tracker Survey Report, June 2021

Abstract

Brief on the FinAccess Micro and Small Enterprises (MSE) COVID-19 tracker survey run by KNBS, the Central Bank of Kenya and FSD Kenya from November 2020 to March 2021 to monitor the impact of the pandemic on small businesses. It reports business closures and reopenings, reduced sales and lack of operating capital as reasons for closure, and the limited use of loan restructuring by MSEs, which rely little on bank loans.
