Producer Price Indices First Quarter 2022-Revised

The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics hereby releases the Producer Price Index (PPI) for the first quarter 2022. The quarterly producer prices are denoted by the last month of the quarter and are collected as at the middle of the quarter. The first quarter year on year producer inflation was 11.21 per cent in March 2022 compared to 4.92 per cent in March 2021. The index rose from 106.04 in March 2021 to 117.93 in March 2022. The year on year Producer Price Index (PPI) and producer inflation from March 2019 to March 2022 are presented in Figure 1 and Table 1. Over the period, inflation was highest in March 2022.
