Kenya Quarterly Balance of Payments Third Quarter, 2020
Abstract
During the third quarter of 2020, the current account deficit improved by 10.6 per cent to KSh 141.1 billion from KSh 157.9 billion in the third quarter of 2019. This is partly attributable to the narrowing of international merchandise trade balance which improved by 16.1 per cent from a deficit of KSh 273.1 billion in the third quarter of 2019 to a deficit of KSh 229.0 billion in the third quarter of 2020. Net international trade in services inflows went down to a deficit of KSh 2.7 billion in the third quarter of 2020 from a surplus of KSh 41.2 billion in the corresponding quarter of 2019
