Producer Price Indices for Third Quarter 2024
Abstract
The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics hereby releases the Producer Price Index (PPI) for the third quarter 2024. The quarterly producer prices aredenoted by the last month of the quarter and are collected as at the middle of the quarter. The third quarter year-on-year producer inflation rate was -3.64 per cent in September 2024 compared to 9.83 per cent recorded in September 2023. The index decreased from 140.35 in September 2023 to 135.24 in September 2024. Trends in the year-on-year Producer Price Index (PPI) and producer inflation rates from September 2021 to September 2024 are as shown in Figure 1 and Table 1. Over the period, producer inflation rate was highest in June 2022 at 16.52 per cent.
